The Nixa Amateur Radio Club’s annual Hamfest plays a vital role in raising the funds needed to support the Southwest Missouri Linked Repeater System (SMLRS), a network the Nixa ARC proudly helped establish as a founding partner.
Thanks to the incredible support from Hamfest attendees and generous donors in 2025, we achieved a major milestone — relocating our Branson repeater from the city water tower to the iconic Shepherd of the Hills Inspiration Tower. As a result of this move:
- The 146.655 MHz repeater is now fully online and integrated into the SMLRS.
- The 444.450 MHz DMR repeater is live and connected to the Brandmeister network.
- The 462.575+ MHz (PL 162.2 Hz) GMRS repeater is also operational, serving the needs of GMRS users within our community.
These significant upgrades were made possible solely through the funds raised at Hamfest and the continued generosity of our supporters. Your participation and contributions truly make a difference in advancing amateur radio across Southwest Missouri!

We’re inviting you to join us on Saturday, November 8, 2024 at the Victory Baptist Church located at 252 N Nicholas Rd in Nixa, MO – just a couple miles from last year’s location. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. with the main entry on the South side of the Church. This year’s location not only boasts a larger facility, but also classrooms for presentations and testing and a separate large area for sitting and eating or visiting for those wanting to take a break from walking around to visit with friends.
